Oklahoma Electrician Continuing Education Requirements: All Oklahoma-licensed Electrical Contractors and Journeymen must complete 12 hours of Continuing Education (CE) every 3 years (36 months) before they may renew their license. Additionally, under recent legislative changes effective January 1, 2026, Electrical Apprentices are required to complete 3 hours of continuing education every 12 months. If an apprentice is a student apprentice or is enrolled and attending an approved course, the continuing education shall not be required.

Important: To comply with Oklahoma Construction Industries Board (CIB) guidelines, online continuing education courses utilize facial recognition for identity verification. However, the Board’s new CEU system assigns course numbers automatically and no longer adds these codes. For new courses, you can no longer tell a course’s type from its number alone.
