Pennsylvania Electrician Continuing Education Requirements: Pennsylvania sets electrician CE requirements at the local level. Philadelphia and Pittsburgh each require 8 hours of continuing education annually, and the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry (DLI) separately requires 15 credit hours per certification category (capped at 45 hours total) for UCC certified code officials on a 3-year cycle.

Philadelphia electrical contractors must show coursework in the current or later edition of NFPA 70 from a provider approved by the PA Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). Pittsburgh also accepts continuing education credits from PA DLI approved providers

  • Pittsburgh PLI accepts CE from PA Department of Labor and Industry providers (such as ExpertCE).
