| Journeyman Electrician | a) The license holder is required to obtain 16 hours of CEUs (Continuing Education Units), 8 of the 16 hours must be from a code related course. The 16 hours must be completed within a 3 year period since the last license renewal. b) Renewal period opens 90 days before expiration date: October 1 of the year before your expiration and closes on January 1 of your expiration year. c) You will have a 45 day grace period after the expiration date of your license to renew. You will incur a 50.00 late fee in addition to the renewal fee if you renew in the grace period. If you exceed the 45 day grace period your only method to licensure will be to apply and sit for the Wyoming Journeyman exam again. You’ll be licensed with your expired license number and the fee is $100.00 for the license plus testing fees (testing fees are paid to the testing facility). A new exam application will need to be submitted. | By January 1, every three years. |
| Master Electrician | a) Sixteen (16) hours of continuing education units (CEUs). Eight (8) of the sixteen (16 ) hours must be in 2020 or 2023 code update. b) The master electrician renewal will close August 15. If you do not renew by the August 15 deadline (45 days) your only recourse for licensure will be to take the Wyoming Master Electrician Exam (this applies to reciprocal license holders as well – as you will not be eligible to reciprocate again). c) An electrician or technician who applies for renewal of his expired license within forty-five (45) days after its expiration and is otherwise entitled to renewal of his license shall have his license renewed by paying an additional fee of fifty dollars ($50.00). Any electrician or technician who fails to renew his or her license within forty-five (45) days of expiration must pay all applicable fees and pass the appropriate examination to reinstate his or her license. | By August 15, every three years. |
