CE Requirement – Arkansas
Continuing Education Requirements Arkansas Master and Journeyman electricians are required to complete 8 hours of continuing education for each National Electric Code (NEC) cycle.
License Renewal Information Your Arkansas electrical license expires on the last day of the month, one year following the date of issue. All licenses originally issued prior to the adoption of this rule shall continue to expire as indicated on the license. Licenses can be renewed, via the Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board website, for one (1) year in the last year of an NEC cycle, two (2) years in the second year of an NEC cycle, or three (3) years in the first year of an NEC cycle.

Receive a certificate of completion from your provider for your personal records.

- If you hold multiple licenses (e.g., Master and Journeyman), check with the Board for specific CE requirements.
- CE course providers are required to maintain attendance records for not less than five years from the course completion date; it is recommended you also keep your certificate for a similar period as proof of completion.
