Texas – NEC 2026 Theory and Calculations, Safety

Covers the 2026 NEC changes, beginning with the reorganized scope in Article 90 and the Article 110 requirements for available fault current marking, arc-flash labeling, and working space for DC systems. Participants examine the relocated dwelling unit load calculations in 120.41, the move of energy management systems and power control systems into Chapter 1, and the Article 210 branch circuit changes covering AFCI and GFCI protection, receptacle placement at islands, and conductor sizing.

The course then addresses overcurrent protection and arc energy reduction in Article 240, surge protection under Article 242, and the new Article 270 for medium voltage grounding and conductor sizing. Later lessons cover EV supply equipment, pools and hydromassage tubs, marinas, emergency and standby systems, and fire alarm wiring, followed by NFPA 70E work practices and the Texas licensing rules in TAC Chapter 73 and Occupations Code 1305.

Learning Objectives
