Covers the 2026 National Electrical Code changes, beginning with the reorganized scope in Article 90 and moving through Article 110 requirements for available fault current marking, arc-flash labels, and working space for DC systems. Participants examine the new Article 130 provisions for energy management and power control systems, the revised dwelling unit load calculations, branch-circuit changes to AFCI, GFCI and receptacle placement under Article 210, and the relocated conductor sizing tables in Articles 240, 250.122, 268 and 310.16.
The course then addresses grounding, bonding and services: the outdoor emergency disconnect for dwellings under 230.70, listing requirements for service equipment and intersystem bonding, and the new Articles 268 and 270 that relocate medium voltage service and grounding rules for systems over 1000 V AC and 1500 V DC. The final section covers the North Dakota Wiring Standards, including the 5% voltage-drop limit, minimum 100-ampere services, egress and emergency lighting, the ND AFCI and GFCI exceptions, and hazardous locations in oilfields and grain elevators.
