Nebraska – NEC 2026 Code Changes

Course description

Covers the 2026 National Electrical Code changes, beginning with the reorganized scope in Article 90 and the Article 110 marking rules for available fault current and arc-flash hazards, then moving through the new Article 130 provisions for energy management and power control systems, the dwelling unit load calculations relocated to Article 120, branch-circuit changes to AFCI, GFCI and receptacle placement under Article 210, and the arc energy reduction and small conductor protection updates in Article 240. Participants examine the outdoor emergency disconnect and service equipment listing rules in Article 230, the grounding and bonding revisions in Article 250, and the new Articles 268 and 270 that relocate service and grounding requirements for systems over 1000 V AC and 1500 V DC.

The course then addresses wiring methods and equipment: the restructured securing, supporting and conductor protection rules in Articles 300 and 305, the receptacle and switch requirements moved within Article 406, reconditioned equipment and busbar rules in Article 408, and the revised listing, disconnect and labeling requirements for electric vehicle supply equipment under Article 625. Later modules cover hazardous location classification and bonding under Articles 500 through 516, the restructured temporary installation rules in Article 590, and the listing, bonding and GFCI changes for pools and spas in Article 680.
