CE Requirement – Montana
Montana Electrician Continuing Education Requirements: All active Montana-licensed Electricians must complete 16 hours of Continuing Education (CE) during each two-year license period to be eligible for license renewal. At least 8 hours of the total requirement must cover updates to the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Quick Steps to Renew Your Montana Electrician License
Complete a 16-hour, state-approved CE course within your two-year license term, ensuring at least 8 hours are on NEC updates.
Your course provider should report your hours to the state; however, you are responsible for maintaining your own records.
Receive a certificate of completion from your provider and keep it for your personal records for at least three years.
Complete the renewal application and pay the fee online via the Montana Department of Labor & Industry’s eBiz portal.
