HVAC Instructor (Virtual) for Continuing Education

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Instructor to lead the development and review of our online Continuing Education (CE) courses. You will partner directly with a mechanical engineer to ensure our content is not only code-compliant but also practical and industry-leading.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Development: Develop and review comprehensive HVAC training materials, ensuring all content is code-compliant and aligned with current industry standards.
  • Quality Assurance: \"Own\" the quality of the HVAC vertical. You are the final sign-off on technical accuracy.
  • Collaboration: Partner with our Mechanical Engineer(s) to translate complex codes into engaging, high-quality continuing educational content.
  • Regulatory Updates: Review and update existing materials to reflect the current regulations and code adoptions of specific states (e.g., 2021 IMC, 2018 UPC).

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of industry experience in HVAC-R installation, repair, and maintenance or as an instructor at an accredited college, university, or post-secondary institute (i.e. Technical College).
  • Licensure: Possession of a valid Master HVAC license (or equivalent) is highly preferred. For non-licensed applicants (e.g., Code Officials or Engineers), a minimum of 5–10 years of field experience and prior instructional design experience is required.
  • Education: Associate’s degree (minimum) in HVAC-R Technology or a related technical field.
  • Preferred Certifications: EPA Section 608 Certification and/or NATE certification.
  • Code Proficiency: Evidence of proficiency in the 2021 International Mechanical Code (IMC) or the 2018 Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC). Proof of ICC Certification or a history of working as a code official/inspector is acceptable.
  • Instructional Background: Previous experience delivering technical HVAC-R training or continuing education.
    • Bonus: Experience specifically in developing CE content or training curriculum.
