CE Requirement – Florida Electricians

The complete requirements and renewal steps are listed below

Florida Electrician Continuing Education Requirements:  Florida electrical contractors must complete either 11 or 7 hours of continuing education every two years, depending on their license type, with specific requirements in categories like workers’ compensation, workplace safety, business practices, Florida laws and rules, technical training, and false alarm prevention for those performing alarm work. Certified and Registered Electrical Contractors require 11 hours, including 7 technical hours with a Florida Building Code advanced module, while Alarm and Specialty Contractors need 7 hours with adjusted technical and general credits. Licenses issued less than 12 months before August 31 of the renewal year are exempt from CE requirements, and those issued 12-24 months prior owe reduced hours of 5 or 4, following similar category breakdowns. All electrical licenses must be renewed by August 31 of every even-numbered year.
